TRAVEL BETWEEN EMBASSY SUITES AND ORLANDO AIRPORT? Reunion attendees are responsible for their own transportation between the airport and our hotel. Hotels, such as the Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista, in the Orlando area typically do not have airport shuttles. It is about 20 miles each way and takes about 27 minutes. Suggested modes of transportation are:
Rental car - $45-$65 per day + fuel
Taxi - $60-$75
Uber - $40
SPECIAL NEEDS? Please be sure to tell us about any dietary or food allergies that you have when you register. For those with mobility needs that may need a rental wheelchair or electric scooter during the stay there are numerous companies that will rent and deliver to the hotel. Most have a three day minimum rental. The following links are two local sources of mobility rentals; numerous other sources can be found on the internet:
GOLF? Traditionally the POS biennial reunion has included a "Walt Barber Memorial Golf Outing". Responses to the 2025 Reunion Questionnaire sent out last summer indicated minimal interest in golf as a group event for this year’s reunion, therefore the Reunion Team elected to not include a golf outing. The Team is available to help any member or members interested in golfing; however, arrangements and reservations are the individual member’s responsibility.
SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE? We are offering a limited amount of financial assistance for those members who would like to attend the 2025 Orlando reunion but are otherwise unable to do so due to the cost. As an example, in the past, we have offered overnight accommodations to nearby members who, for whatever reason, could not drive at night but would like to attend some of the evening events. However, assistance is not limited to that specific circumstance, any valid reason will be considered. All requests are held in strict confidence and will be adjudicated by the President and/or selected members of the Reunion committee. The Reunion Registration section includes instructions on how to apply.
